Maui GameStop offers chance to reserve Nintendo Wii

The Maui News

KAHULUI — Shoppers on Maui hunting for the Nintendo Wii game console for the holidays may get the next best thing Friday — a chance to reserve one at GameStop stores around Maui, store officials said, according to The Maui News.

Although the highly sought after gift will not be here by Christmas, those who reserve the $249.99-plus-tax game console, will receive a custom-designed DVD case emblazoned with a Wii and the iconic Mario character wishing a "Happy Holidays! Your Wii is on the Way!", according to GameStop.

Inside the DVD case is a guarantee slip that provides gift-giver guidelines and an explanation of the gift receipt.

GameStop said the shops expect the game console will be available for pickup by Jan. 25.

But only a limited number of reservations will be available at each store. Only one reservation can be purchased per household. Reservations must be made in person.

GameStop locations on Maui include the Queen Ka'ahumanu Center, which has holiday hours from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. The newest location near Wal-Mart as well as the Kihei location will be open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. The Lahaina store is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
