Surf of 4 to 7 feet expected along north-facing shores

Advertiser Staff

The biggest surf of the day on O'ahu, 4 feet to 7 feet, is expected along north-facing shores.

Elsewhere, look for surf of 2 feet to 4 feet along west-facing shores, 1 foot to 2 feet along south-facing shores and 3 feet to 5 feet along east-facing shores, according to the National Weather Service.

The longer-term forecast calls for increasing surf along north- and west-facing shores over the weekend and into early next week.

A moderate northwest swell is expected Saturday night and Sunday. A larger northwest swell is anticipated Sunday night with surf heights topping advisory levels of 15 feet for north shores and 12 feet for the west-facing shores. Meanwhile, a small to moderate short period trade wind swell will continue through next week with surf heights staying below advisory levels.
