Hawaii stock index ends week with increase

The Bloomberg-Honolulu Advertiser Hawai'i Index ended the week on a high note, rising for the fourth consecutive day as investors reacted to a better-than-expected report on consumer spending.The 11-member stock index climbed 1.51 points to 94.75, as six issues rose and four fell and one remained unchanged.
The gainers were led by Hawai'i's bank stocks. Bank of Hawaii climbed 4.4 percent, or $2.19, to $51.77, while Central Pacific Financial rose 2.8 percent, or 54 cents, to $19.82.
Among stocks with losses, Cyanotech slipped below $1 a share as it lost 13 cents and ended trading at 98 cents.
