Kmart on Nimitz slashes Christmas tree price to $1

Some Christmas tree sellers have slashed their prices to unload a surplus of the evergreens as Dec. 25 approaches.The Kmart store on Nimitz highway in Iwilei has cut the price for 5- to 7-foot Douglas fir trees to just $1.
Richard Tajiri of Christmas Hawaii said he was forced to close his tree lot at Ala Moana earlier this week because business was so slow.
