Typical trade wind weather likely for next few days

A high pressure area north of the islands will maintain trade wind conditions across the state into next week, the National Weather Service said.

The trades will weaken a bit today and tomorrow before increasing again Saturday night and Sunday, according to the forecast.

Showers will continue mainly over windward and mauka areas.

Here's a closer look at what to expect during the next few days:

Today: Isolated showers before noon. Partly cloudy, with a high near 80. East wind around 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tonight: Isolated showers after midnight. Partly cloudy, with a low around 69. East wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Saturday: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 82. East wind around 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Saturday Night: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. East wind around 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Sunday: Scattered showers, mainly after noon. Partly cloudy, with a high near 82. East wind around 16 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Sunday Night: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 71. East wind around 16 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
