Kauai recycling center reopens

Kaua'i officials have announced that the Kaua'i Resource Center is scheduled to reopen today. The center is at 3460 Ahukini Road next to the Lihu'e transfer station, approximately 1/2 mile from the airport.

Services offered at the center include HI-5 bottle redemption and residential and commercial recycling drop-off: aluminum cans; cardboard; glass; mixed paper; newspaper; and plastic No. 1 and 2.

The center is open daily 7:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., except for Wednesdays and Sundays, and is closed for lunch from 11 to 11:45 a.m.
