DNA test leads to inmate arrest in 2005 burglary

An O'ahu Community Correctional Center inmate has been arrested in connection with a 2005 burglary in Waikiki.Police said that during the May 2005 burglary of the home of an 83-year-old man, the suspect left behind some DNA evidence.
In November, tests conducted by the state and national DNA Index System turned up a match, which turned out to belong to the 43-year-old inmate, who was re-arrested on Friday and ordered held on $40,000 bail on the new charge.
