Maui County lists holiday closings

Waiehu Golf Course, County pools and all County offices will be closed Christmas Day and New Year's Day, Maui County officials announced. County offices will remain open during regular business hours on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.Central Maui Landfill will be open both Christmas Day and New Year's Day from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Hana, Moloka'i and Lana'i landfills will be closed. Trash will be picked up on the holidays on a normal schedule, except for residents on Lana'i, who will receive service the following day.
Ocean safety officers will be on duty on the holidays during normal hours at all County beaches except Kama'ole II, where facilities remain closed until further notice due to storm damage.
Pool schedules will be altered during the holiday season due to staffing requirements; for a daily-updated recording of pool schedules, call the Aquatics Division's pool hot line at 808-270-8208.
