Two men were charged last night by prosecutors in connection with the alleged theft of 133 pounds of insulated copper wiring from a Fort Shafter housing site in Kalihi scheduled for demolition.

Richard Wallace Malone and Matthew Clyde Pacopac, both 30, were each charged with first-degree burglary at 10:30 p.m. following their arrest at 1110 Macomb Road at 8:40 a.m. Bail for each is $25,000 pending their initial appearance tomorrow at District Court.

Military police conducting checks of the housing area allegedly caught the two men inside a building in possession of copper wiring. The suspects were turned over to police.

Malone is also facing drug charges for allegedly being in possession of a glass pipe with drug residue.
