Makalapa man charged with Kalihi burglary

Advertiser Staff

Prosecutors yesterday charged a Makalapa man with Friday's alleged break-in of a second-floor Kalihi apartment.

Police responding to a 911 call, arrested Kitiron Kumos, 21, at 2:50 p.m. inside an apartment on the 700 block of McNeill Street. He was charged with first-degree burglary and is also being held on outstanding warrants of $20,000 and $500. Bail for the burglary charge is $11,000 pending an initial appearance tomorrow at District Court.

Police said a woman, 40, returned home and saw Kumos loitering outside her apartment, calling out to someone inside. The woman called 911 when Kumos allegedly removed louvers of her unit.

The woman told police she had seen the suspect loitering earlier at a neighboring apartment building.
