The Big Island resonated with National Geographic Traveler magazine in its November/December issue, in a survey titled "Destinations Rated: Islands." The fourth annual survey, by Traveler and the National Geographic Center for Sustainable Destinations, paneled 522 experts in sustainable tourism and destination stewardship.
