Hawaii stock index rises for fifth straight session

The Bloomberg-Honolulu Advertiser Hawai'i Index rose for a fifth consecutive trading session as broader indexes rose during an abbreviated Christmas Eve session.The 11-member stock index climbed 1.27 points to 96.02, as nine issues rose and one fell and one remained unchanged.
The gainers were led by Barnwell Industries, which rose 13.6 percent, or $1.24, to $10.33. Cyanotech climbed 20 cents, or 20 percent, to $1.18.
