Dashing here and there, setting up your holiday party? These tips can smooth the way.

  • Easy deviled eggs: Use a zipclosure bag to mash up the yolks. Then when you're finished seasoning, simply reseal, cut the tip and fill the egg white cup for easy cleanup.

  • Oops. Dropped a glass? A wet cotton ball or Q-tip picks up small shards of glass you can't see easily.

    SAVE THE PLANET

    PARCHMENT PAPER FOR NO-STICK BAKING

Bake yourself cleaner, suggests "1,001 Ways to Save the Earth." First, use unbleached parchment paper for your cooking needs. Added bonus: It can be crumpled up and added to your compost pile. If you're baking all the time, it may be worth it to invest in a silicone nonstick baking sheet, which slides right onto the cookie sheet.
