Brennan, Warriors arrive in New Orleans for Sugar Bowl

The University of Hawai'i football team arrived safely in New Orleans at about 1 a.m. Hawai'i time.

The Warriors play Georgia in the Allstate Sugar Bowl, Jan. 1 at the Louisiana Superdome.

According to media relations director Derek Inouchi, the Warriors were greeted by the Sugar Bowl committee and an eight-piece jazz band.

Other players who did not travel on the charter also are arriving in New Orleans today. Coach June Jones set a reporting deadline of 8 p.m. Central time.

Colt Brennan and Davone Bess arrived this afternoon in stormy New Orleans today.

"It's great to be here," said Brennan, who spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in Colorado.

Brennan's sister gave birth to a daughter, Tea.

"I'm officially an uncle," Brennan said.

Bess, who spent the past two days in Californa, Tyson Kafentzis and Brennan were on the same flight from Denver to New Orleans.
