Happy birthday, Elvis, from MAC 24-7

Advertiser Staff

MAC 24-7, the never-closed upscale diner at Hilton Waikiki Prince Kuhio Hotel, plans its second annual birthday tribute to rock n' roll's King in the wee hours of Jan. 8.

Elvis, who enjoyed the Islands and made three films and gave some key concerts here, was born at 1:45 a.m. Hawaii Standard Time (actually, 4:45 a.m. Central Standard Time), so that's when the celebration begins.

Guests can watch his Hawai'i movies and TV concert on the restaurant's four 50-inch TVs, listen to his music and order a MAC 24-7 signature: the Elvis — buttermilk-peanut butter pancakes.

Will Elvis be in the building? They're not saying.
