Moped rider critically hurt on Pali

Police have reopened Honolulu-bound lanes of Pali Highway following a critical accident involving a moped rider.The accident happened about 4:30 p.m. near Waokanaka Street.
A 44-year-old California man was taken to The Queen's Medical Center in critical condition, police said.
Police said a Mazda apparently went out of control on the wet roadway and slid into the moped. Heavy rain was apparently a factor, police said.
