Breezy, rainy weather here through the weekend

Fresh to strong trade winds will continue through Saturday, with the winds dropping down a notch Sunday and Monday, according to the National Weather Service.The wet trade wind weather over the past week, especially on the windward side, will continue until the winds subside, forecasters said.
The thick high clouds over the island chain will gradually decrease during the weekend. A weak shear line will move quickly through the state on New Year's Day with cooler and drier conditions filling in behind it to start off the new year.

Today: Showers likely. Cloudy, with a high near 81. Breezy, with a east wind around 25 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
Tonight: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 69. Breezy, with a east wind around 20 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Saturday: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 80. Breezy, with a east wind around 23 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Saturday night: Scattered showers, mainly before midnight. Partly cloudy, with a low around 68. East wind around 16 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Sunday: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 80. East wind around 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
