KAPOLEI
Public hearing Jan. 8 on Chevron security plan

Advertiser Staff

A public hearing on Chevron Hawaii Refinery's plan to improve security at its petroleum processing facility at Campbell Industrial Park will be held at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 8 at Kapolei Hale, conference room C.

The improvements are being done as a homeland security measure.

Chevron is seeking a major special management area use permit to construct an 8-foot chain-link fence topped with 1-foot-high concertina wire and barbed tape.

Also proposed are pedestrian and vehicular access gates, retractable bollards and concrete barriers.

Call Lynne Kauer at the city Department of Planning and Permitting at 760-8016 for information.
