7 isle women hoop it up in Hawaiian Holiday Classic

Seven former local high school basketball players return to Hawai'i for this weekend's Hawaiian Holiday Classic at Kalaheo High School.

The seven all play for the Holy Names University women's basketball team, located in Oakland, Calif. The four-team tournament features three teams ranked in the NAIA.

Holy Names (5-9) faces fourth-ranked Lee (Tenn.) at 1 p.m. today. At 11 a.m., second-ranked Vanguard (Calif.) plays No. 22 Eastern Oregon.

On Sunday, Lee (10-2) plays Vanguard (6-1) at 11 a.m. and Holy Names plays Eastern Oregon (9-0) at 1 p.m.

Lee and Vanguard are both ranked in the NAIA Division I poll while Eastern Oregon is ranked in the NAIA Division II poll.

The seven local players for Holy Names are Janiene Sablan (Farrington '07), C'ani Kealoha (Farrington '07), Larisa Nakasone (Roosevelt '05), Jamie-Leigh Ronolo (Moanalua '07), Chelsie Kadota (Roosevelt '05), Mana Camara (Kalani '06) and Danielle Lovelle (Wai'anae '07).
