WHAT'S OPEN AND CLOSED
New Year's day

Here's what's open and closed on Tuesday:

  • Federal, state and county offices: Closed

  • Mail: All post offices closed; no regular residential delivery.

  • Libraries: Closed. Branches also will close by 5 p.m. on New Year's Eve. www.librarieshawaii.org.

  • TheBus: Operating on a Sunday schedule. Information: 848-5555.

  • TheBoat and TheBoat Feeder services will not operate.

  • Handi-Vans: Operating on a weekend schedule.

  • On-street parking: Free, except for metered stalls on Kalakaua Avenue along Kapi'olani Park; holiday tow-away zone parking as permitted by sign; meters in municipal lots must be fed.

  • Traffic: No coning

  • Recreation centers and botanical gardens: Closed

  • Pali and West Loch municipal golf courses closed. Ala Wai, Ewa Villages and Ted Makalena municipal golf courses open 7 a.m.-1 p.m.

  • Honolulu Zoo: Open

  • Trash: No rubbish pickup.

  • Landfills/refuse transfer stations: Closed

  • People's Open Markets and satellite city halls: Closed

  • Blaisdell Center box office: Closed

  • Banks: Closed
