WESTERN CAROLINA | SEPT. 15

ATHENS, Ga. — Quarterbacks Matthew Stafford and Joe Cox combined for three touchdown passes to lead Georgia to a 45-16 victory against Western Carolina on Saturday at Sanford Stadium.

Tailbacks Thomas Brown and Knowshon Moreno and fullback Brannan Southerland all rushed for touchdowns as the Bulldogs improved to 2-1 on the season.

"I think once we got it going, we moved the ball well enough, scored some points and made some nice catches," Georgia coach Mark Richt said.

Stafford went 14 of 20 for 174 yards, including scoring passes of 15 yards to receiver Sean Bailey and 10 yards to Brown. Bailey missed all of last season with an ACL injury, and it was his first score since the 2005 SEC Championship Game.
