Sugar Bowl: Fans sought for flash card presentation

Advertiser Staff

Mia Okinaga and Sonya Miyashiro are looking for fans seated in sections 320 through 325 — roughly, 1,600 fans — to participate in a flash card presentation in the Superdome during the Sugar Bowl game.

The cards, when held up together, will spell out "Hawaii" and "Believe."

The cards will be on the seats before the game, and will come with instructions. At the first time out in the second quarter, fans should hold up cards that will spell out "Hawaii." At the first time out of the fourth quarter, fans again will hold up cards that will spell "Believe."

Some cards will have two sides, and the sides will be clearly marked, "Q-2" and "Q-4." If the sign shows "Q-2" face that side to the field in the second quarter. Do the same for "Q-4" in the final quarter.

Okinaga and Miyashiro have put the cards together, with the help of others. Getting the cards printed and put together took three days.

For more information on the card stunt, call Miyashiro at 566-7222, Okinaga at 510-367-3895, e-mail her at: okinaga2000@gmail.com.
