East shores under high surf advisory

Advertiser Staff

A high surf advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service for east-facing shores.

Surf along eastern shores will be 5 to 7 feet today. The latest National Weather Service forecast said a new north northwest swell arriving late Tuesday may produce surf heights approaching the high surf advisory threshold along north-facing shores by early Wednesday. It will be reinforced by another north northwest swell arriving early Thursday and peaking late Thursday into Friday, with surf heights remaining near advisory level. A smaller northwest swell is expected Saturday.

The rest of today's forecast calls surf to be 4 to 6 feet along north-facing shores and 1 to 3 feet along west and south shores.
