POLICE BEAT
Police: Man had 2 guns in luggage

Associated Press

An Ohio man faces firearms charges after two loaded guns were found in his check-in luggage at Honolulu International Airport, police said.

An airport sheriff deputy arrested 28-year-old Christopher L. Hollie on Friday night before he was able to board a Northwest Airlines flight to the Main-land.

Transportation Security Administration screeners say they found a .45-caliber pistol and a 9 mm semiautomatic pistol.

Officials say both guns were loaded and concealed in Hollie's packed clothes.

Hollie told sheriffs he worked at Tripler Army Medical Center, but he would not say why he was traveling with loaded guns.

He was charged with firearms violations, including failing to register firearms.

He was being held at the Honolulu police cellblock in lieu of $25,000 bail.
