Kona man charged after woman reports sexual assault

A Kona man is in police custody after being charged Wednesday in connection with a sexual assault over the weekend.

An adult female reported Saturday that she woke up in her home early that morning to find a man sexually assaulting her. The man then left the scene.

Kona patrol officers arrested Jeremy Henriquez on Tuesday. Kona Juvenile Aid Section detectives charged Henriquez Thursday with second-degree sexual assault, first-degree burglary and violating probation. Henriquez is being held in the Kona police cell block in lieu of $100,000 bail pending his initial court appearance.
