Charter school gets a long-term home at last

Advertiser Staff

Halau Ku Mana Public Charter School has entered a 25-year lease agreement to share space with Wailupe Valley School in a partnership the school has forged to obtain a permanent location.

The school was living on borrowed time at Paradise Park even though its temporary rental agreement had been extended through June.

Under the 25-year lease agreement Halau Ku Mana would have administrative offices and its digital center at the Wailupe Valley, which has additional space because it has been losing enrollment.

The charter school will also use other facilities for certain outdoor classes and is in the process of making those arrangements as well.
