Rainbow Wahine defeat San Jose State in water polo

Lisa van Raalte scored four goals and Kelly Mason added three to lift Hawai'i to an 11-9 victory over San Jose State Thursday in a women's water polo game at San Jose, Calif.

Hawai'i, ranked No. 5 in the nation, is 1-0 overall and in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation. No. 11 San Jose State is 1-1 and 0-1.

Emily Cox, Anna Sieprath, Kristy Bagnall and Angela Turnbull each scored a goal for the Rainbow Wahine.

The game was tied at 9 entering the final quarter. Mason and Cox scored in the final 2:08 to seal the victory.

Hawai'i travels to No. 3 Stanford Friday.
