Oceanic to show Super Bowl in high definition TV

Advertiser Staff

Hawai'i cable customers will be able to watch Sunday's Super Bowl in full high-definition glory following a temporary agreement between KGMB 9 and Time Warner Oceanic Cable.

The big game is being broadcast by local CBS-affiliate KGMB 9, whose signal currently is not available in high definition from Oceanic Cable. However, both companies today said they were able to reach a temporary agreement allowing viewers to watch the Super Bowl on cable TV.

The arrangement is significant because most homes in Hawai'i get their TV signals via cable. Viewers will need an Oceanic HD set-top box in order to watch the game in high definition.
