HPD marks 75 years, touts enhanced 911 services

Advertiser Staff

The Honolulu Police Department on Thursday kicked off activities marking the 75th anniversary of the department with a proclamation from Mayor Mufi Hannemann at police headquarters.

The department used the occasion to work with the city Department of Information Technology to demonstrate new developments in the city's enhanced 911 services.

Since 1932, the department has grown to 1,100 officers. And the vision statement now is "To Serve and Protect with Aloha."
