First Friday offers Chinese New Year's twist

Advertiser Staff

This month's First Friday celebration will have a decidedly Chinese flavor to it with the upcoming Chinese New Year being celebrated in Chinatown.

The United Chinese Coalition at the Chinatown Cultural Plaza will be holding a two-day festival, overlapping the popular First Friday in downtown Honolulu. The festival will be all day Friday, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., as well as Saturday. There will be food, exhibits, entertainment, feng shui presentations, martial arts demonstrations, dancing and singing.

For additional information on First Friday, check the Web site, http://www.firstfridayhawaii.com/calendar.html.
