Wilson fires 69, McLachlin's round halted in PGA play

Advertiser Staff

Dean Wilson shot 2-under 69 Friday and is expected to make the cut in the weather-plagued PGA Tour's FBR Open in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Play was delayed 40 minutes by frost and later called because of darkness with 18 players yet to finish their rounds.

One of those players is former Honolulu resident Parker McLachlin.

McLachlin is 2-under through 14 holes and 3-under for the tournament.

The projected cut is 2-under.

Wilson, a former Kaneohe resident, had five birdies and three bogeys and is at 3-under 139.

Jeff Quinney, a former Arizona State star, shot 8-under 68 Friday and his 13-under 129 leads the tournament.
