Jasmine Trias, Society of Seven together in Las Vegas

By Wayne Harada
Advertiser Entertainment Writer

Singer Jasmine Trias, Hawai'i's highest-finishing "American Idol" — third-place in the 2004 season — will make her Las Vegas showroom debut when she joins the Society of Seven group Feb. 15 through March 18 at the main showroom of the Flamingo hotel.

Trias is busy in rehearsal with SOS leader Tony Ruivivar, learning new material to suit the Vegas crowd. She will return home, however, to perform the National Anthem at the sold-out Feb. 10 Pro Bowl football game at Aloha Stadium.

Trias will fill in for songstress Lani Misalucha, who will be on leave for about five weeks, mostly to promote a new solo CD in her native Philippines. Misalucha reopens March 21.

Like Misalucha, Trias is of Filipino heritage and has broad appeal among the Filipino and Asian communities that frequent the Las Vegas shows. While Trias has performed extensively in the Philippines, this will mark the first time she will be singing before a mainstream audience.

Meantime, Trias also has dates on syndicated TV shows, including the Tyra Banks Show, Ellen DeGeneres and "The View."
