Man arrested in Wai'anae after alleged handgun threat

Advertiser Staff

A 36-year-old man was arrested in the Wai'anae area early Saturday morning after he allegedly pointed a handgun at a woman and threatened to kill her.

The woman, 44, told police she walked up to the man at about 12:15 a.m. and an argument began. At one point during the disagreement, the man pulled out a handgun and threatened to kill her, the woman said.

She said she called police, at which point the man got into a car and drove away.

Police said that while they were talking to the woman, the suspect returned to the area and was arrested on suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening.

The man's car was searched and a handgun was found, police said.
