High surf warning again for north, west shores

Advertiser Staff

A high surf warning is in effect for north- and west-facing shores on O'ahu.

Surf along the north-facing shores rose to 15 to 20 feet during the night and is expected to decline to 12 to 16 feet today.

Waves along the west-facing shores were estimated at 8 to 12 last night and will decrease to 6 to 10 feet today.

Waves along east-facing shores will be 2 to 3 feet through today.

Surf along south-facing shores will remain at 2 to 4 feet through today.

The ongoing northwest swell will continue to subside gradually through early tomorrow morning. After a short break, a new northwest swell will start arriving tomorrow night, and surf will build to near-warning-level thresholds along the north and west shores Tuesday. That swell will be reinforced by yet another large northwest swell Thursday.
