The court-martial of a Honolulu soldier who refused deployment to Iraq begins today at Fort Lewis, south of Seattle.

First Lt. Ehren Watada faces four years in prison if convicted on one count of missing movement and two counts of conduct unbecoming an officer.

Watada, 28, refused to deploy with the 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division that is stationed in Fort Lewis. His case has since made headlines worldwide.

Watada is represented by Honolulu attorney Eric Seitz.
