Man arrested in death threat incident

Advertiser Staff

An argument in Wai'anae early Saturday morning ended in death threats and arrest, police said.

A 44-year-old woman approached a 36-year-old man at 12:15 a.m. Saturday and the two began to argue, police said.

During the argument, the man pulled out a handgun and "threatened to kill the victim," police said. The victim was able to call police as the suspect got in a vehicle and drove away.

While police interviewed the victim, the suspect returned to the scene and was immediately arrested, police said. A handgun was found in the vehicle, police said.

The suspect was arrested for investigation of first-degree terroristic threatening.

Charges pending in pocketknife-waving incident

Terroristic threatening charges are pending against an 18-year-old man who frightened two older men Saturday night when he waved his pocketknife at them, police said today.

The two men, ages 41 and 52, were holding the suspect after an argument about 10:45 p.m. Saturday in the McCully area, police said. But the suspect pulled out a pocketknife and even though the two men disarmed him, they felt their lives were threatened, police said.

Charges are pending further investigation.
