UH seeks nominations for employee awards

Advertiser Staff

The University of Hawai'i is seeking nominations for two systemwide employee awards — the Willard Wilson Distinguished Service Award and the President's Award for Excellence in Buildings and Grounds Maintenance.

Recipients will be recognized at the university's 2007 Convocation Awards in the fall.

The Willard Wilson Distinguished Service Award was established in 1969 in honor of retiring Board Secretary Willard Wilson. To qualify, nominees must be a UH employee who has worked for at least 20 years. The recipient will receive a Regents' medal and a $1,000 award.

The President's Award for Excellence in Building and Grounds Maintenance is an award that recognizes an individual who has exhibited sustained superior performance in a maintenance, landscaping, custodial, shop or trucking position. To be eligible, nominees must demonstrate criteria including sustained superior performance above and beyond the call of the individual's duties and aid in improving the physical appearance of their campus. The recipient will receive a certificate and a $1,000 honorarium.

The deadline to receive nominations for both awards is Feb. 28.

For further information and a nomination form, contact Joyce Chun at the Office of the President at 956-8207.
