O'ahu single-family home prices slip, condos climb

O'ahu single-family home prices fell slightly in January to $600,000 as the housing market continued to cool from record highs, according to the Honolulu Board of Realtors.The median price of a home was down 2.4 percent from $615,000 in January 2006.
The drop contrasted with condominium prices, which rose.
The median price for a condominium in January was $320,000, an 8.5 percent rise from a year prior, the board said in a news release.
Sales volume was down in both categories. There were 263 single-family residences sold in January, or 40 less than a year prior.
The number of condominiums sold fell to 418 from 504.
