A high-surf advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service until 4 p.m. Friday for the north and west shores of Ni'ihau, Kaua'i, O'ahu and Moloka'i.

The northern shores of Maui are also under a high-surf advisory until 4 p.m. Friday.

The first of two large swells this week is arriving this morning, with surf along northern shores expected to reach 18 feet to 24 feet.

Surf along the west-facing shores will reach heights of 12 feet to 18 feet, surf along east-facing shores will remain 2 feet to 3 feet and southern shores will see surf 2 feet to 4 feet.

The incoming northwest swell will be reinforced by a similar size northwest swell Thursday. The coming weekend looks quiet with no new significant swells.
