Pro Bowl block party Friday, movie Saturday in Waikiki

This weekend's Sunset on the Beach, part of Pro Bowl Week festivities leading up to Saturday's Pro Bowl game at Aloha Stadium, will be held Friday and Saturday at Queen's Surf Beach.

Earlier announced dates were for Saturday and Sunday; instead, there will be a block party on Friday and movie Saturday.

Tesoro Hawaii is title sponsor this year.

The schedule for Friday:

  • 4 p.m. — Food booths open.

  • 6 p.m. — Entertainment by the group Pali, followed by the Next Generation at 6:55 p.m., Kawao at 7:55 p.m., and Natural Vibrations at 9:05 p.m.

  • 7-10:30 p.m. — Pro Bowl block party on Kalakaua Avenue.

    Saturday's schedule:

  • 1:30 p.m. — Pre-movie Wheel of Fortune game.

  • 4 p.m. — Food booths open.

  • 4:30 and 5:30 p.m. — Entertainment by Son Caribe.

  • About 6 p.m. — "Polynesian Power," a documentary; followed by "The Gridiron Gang," starring Duane "The Rock" Johnson.

    Admission is free.
