Salvador named self storage manager of the year

Hawaii Self Storage's Salt Lake facility manager, Shaun Salvador, has been named 2006 industry manager of the year by national trade publication's Self Storage Now! and Mini-Storage Messenger.Salvador and about 100 other managers across the United States were considered for the national honor.
Having worked in the self storage business since 2003, Salvador last year became manager of the 24-hour Ahua Street facility with about 2,000 storage units. According to Hawaii Self Storage, he increased revenues by almost $500,000 in 2006, maintained 95 percent occupancy, assisted with marketing efforts and a Web site redesign, oversaw the company's scholarship program and led the company in community volunteer work with more than 50 service hours last year.
