The $33 million, 90,000-square-foot training center opened in November 2005 and serves as a Pacific-area training center with communications, mission planning and simulators.
The 25th Infantry Division last June planned for the deployment of more than 7,000 Hawai'i soldiers to Iraq in the center with an exercise involving 4,000 computers and military members and civilians in Hawai'i and on the Mainland.
The 11:30 a.m. ceremony tomorrow, which will include comments from Hoe's father, Allen, is not open to the public.
Nainoa Hoe was named U.S. Army Pacific Reserve soldier of the year when he was with the 100th Battalion, 442nd Infantry. He earned a master's degree from the University of Hawai'i College of Business Administration in 2003.
In his last year at UH, Hoe was ROTC battalion commander.
After receiving his commission, he earned his "jump wings," went through Ranger school and was assigned in 2004 to the 3rd Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment, a Stryker unit from Fort Lewis, Wash.
Hoe, 27, was killed by a sniper in Mosul, Iraq, on Jan. 22, 2005, while leading his platoon.
