Inouye, Akaka among majority to confirm Gen. Casey

U.S. Sens. Daniel K. Inouye and Daniel Akaka of Hawai'i were among the 44 Democrats voting yes today to confirm Gen. George Casey as the next Army chief of staff.
The Senate's vote was 83-14. Also voting yes to confirm Casey were 37 Republicans and two independents.
Voting no were four Democrats and 10 Republicans.
