UH women top New Mexico State, 57-46

Tanya Smith had 15 points and 15 rebounds, and Pat Charity won her first game as interim head coach as the University of Hawai'i women's basketball team beat host New Mexico State, 57-46, yesterday.

Pam Tambini added 13 points for UH (10-12 overall, 4-6 Western Athletic Conference). Sherell Neal had 19 points and 15 rebounds for the Aggies (9-13, 4-6).

UH head coach Jim Bolla is on medical leave.
