Wilson shoots 72, McLachlin 75 at Pebble Beach golf

Advertiser Staff

Former Hawai'i residents Dean Wilson and Parker McLachlin shot 72 and 75 respectively at the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.

Wilson, a former Castle alum and Kane'ohe resident, is tied for 18th while McLachlin, a former Punahou School alum and Honolulu resident, is tied for 82nd.

Wilson had three birdies and three bogeys for a 39-33 round on Poppy Hills. He shot 4-under at Spyglass Hill Thursday.

McLachlin had a two birdies, three bogeys, and a double bogey for a 35-40 round on Spyglass Hill. He shot 2-under 70 at Pebble Beach.

Phil Mickelson and Jim Furyk share the lead at 12-under.

This tournament still won't come into view until after tomorrow, when everyone completes the three-course rotation. Mickelson heads to Spyglass Hill, where he opened with a 62 two years ago on his way to a wire-to-wire victory. Furyk takes on Pebble Beach, and he can only hope the wind stays away for one more day.
