Father stabbed during family fight

DOMESTIC ARGUMENT LEADS TO STABBING

A 50-year-old man was arrested yesterday after he allegedly stabbed his father in the forearm during a fight.

At 12:20 a.m. yesterday, the man and his younger brother got into a fight in their Honolulu home.

The man then grabbed a kitchen knife, police said. Before he could attack his younger brother, their 76-year-old father tried to intervene and was stabbed in the forearm, police said.

Officers responding to a call of a domestic disturbance arrested the 50-year-old on suspicion of second-degree assault.

The father was treated at the scene and released.

GUNFIRE LEADS POLICE TO CONVICTED FELON

A 44-year-old Kaimuki man was arrested yesterday after he was caught allegedly shooting guns in a residential neighborhood.

Patrol officers responded to a call of shots fired at a Kaimuki home at 9:22 last night and found the man in his backyard with a shotgun.

The officers also found several other guns and ammunition at the home and soon learned the man was a convicted felon.

He was arrested on suspicion of reckless endangerment, being a felon in possession of a firearm and unlawful storage of a weapon.

PRISON ESCAPEE CAPTURED AFTER CAR BREAK-IN

A 38-year-old prison escapee from the Laumaka work furlough program was arrested yesterday after he tried to break into a car.

At 2:20 p.m. yesterday, witnesses in Waimanalo saw the man trying to break into the car of a 61-year-old woman.

The witnesses tried to detain the man but he ran.

Responding patrol officers found the man and arrested him. During a search of the man, officers learned he was an escapee.

Officers also found several credit cards on him that belonged to other people.

The man was arrested on suspicion of escape, breaking into a car and possession of confidential personal information.
