Interscholastic League of Honolulu teams Pac-Five and Mid-Pacific will play for the Meadow Gold Dairies/HHSAA Girls Soccer Division II State championship Saturday night.

Mid-Pacific needed two overtimes to beat Roosevelt, 1-0, and Pac-Five made quick work of Campbell with two goals in the first 11 minutes in a 4-0 win yesterday at the Waipi'o Peninsula Soccer Stadium.

The Wolf Pack (5-5-2), Interscholastic League of Honolulu champions, and Owls (6-7-1) play tonight at 6 p.m.

Mid-Pacific senior midfielder Miya Quinn scored one minute, 10 seconds into the second overtime to lift the Owls into the Division II championship game.

Quinn scored after senior defender Melissa Gomes took a free kick near the halfline. Gomes' kick went to the right side of the 18-yard box to sophomore forward Chantel Jeffries, who shot the ball to the left side of the goal. Jeffries' shot was deflected in the box and bounced to Quinn, who was running

The first half was played mostly in the middle of the field, with four shots by the Owls to one by Rough Riders (13-2-1). Mid-Pacific had a 16-3 advantage on shots for the game.

Mid-Pacific put the pressure on with two solid chances midway through the second half. One was on a 23-yard free kick by sophomore midfielder Shannon Rosenberg into the upper left corner that Roosevelt goalkeeper Joy Nakahara snatched out of the air. Another came on a pass from Jeffries, who popped the ball up into the air for freshman forward Sahara Searle, but Searle's shot went straight to Nakahara.

Searle had another chance on a cross from freshman midfielder Paige Young just before regulation ended, but her shot missed just high.

Roosevelt junior midfielder Rachel Domingo had the best chance of the game for the Rough Riders on a free kick a few feet outside the 18-yard box, but her shot went high.

PAC-FIVE 4, CAMPBELL 0: Senior midfielder Ashley Medcalf scored two goals, freshman midfielder Samantha Hyde and freshman midfielder Nicole Craig each added one.

Medcalf scored on a header off a corner kick by senior forward Janelle Toner six minutes into the game.

Hyde scored five minutes later from inside the 18-yard box on a nice combination play by the Wolf Pack. Sophomore midfielder Christine Tamamoto dribbled in from the right sideline and passed it to Medcalf, who one-touched it to Hyde.

Medcalf scored five minutes into the second half on a 20-yard shot into the left side of goal.

Craig scored with 10 minutes left in the game on a cross from senior midfielder Brittney Hutchins, whose ball was blocked by the goalkeeper, but the ball bounced out of her arms and went directly to Craig.
