East-facing shores likely to see biggest surf

Advertiser Staff

A high surf advisory issued by the National Weather Service remains in effect for east-facing shores on O'ahu.

Surf along the eastern shoreline is expected to be 4 to 6 feet today but may reach 8 to 13 feet along eastern shores with northern exposures, forecasters said.

Elsewhere, the surf is expected to reach 8 to 10 feet along north facing shores, 4 to 7 feet along west-facing shores and 1 to 3 feet along south-facing shores.

The north-northeast swell affecting northern exposures of the east-facing shores should drop below the 8-foot advisory level by tonight. Another large northwest swell will arrive late Thursday.
