Wilson shoots final-round 70 at Pebble Beach

Advertiser Staff

Former Honolulu resident Dean Wilson shot a 2-under-par 70 today at the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am at Pebble Beach, Calif.

Wilson, playing on the Pebble Beach Golf Links for the second consecutive day, had four birdies and two bogeys in a round of 37-33.

The former Kane'ohe resident and Castle High alumnus was tied for 29th place, though the tournament had yet to be completed and the final leaderboard finalized.

The tournament's first three days were played on different courses -- Spyglass Hill, Poppy Hills and Pebble Beach.

Wilson shot 4-under 68 at Spyglass Thursday, 72 at Poppy Hills Friday, and 73 at Pebble yesterday.

A cut of the field was made yesterday after all golfers played the three courses.

Parker McLachlin, Hawai'i's other PGA Tour member and a Punahou School alumnus, missed the cut by one shot.
