Advertiser Staff

Four Seasons Hotels Inc., a luxury hotel manager that operates four Hawai'i properties, has reached an agreement to be taken private by a group that includes Microsoft Corp. Chairman Bill Gates, Saudi Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal and the company's chief executive officer.

The $3.8 billion transaction, which includes assumption of debt, will give shareholders $82 a share in cash, the Toronto-based company said in a news release. Four Seasons manages a hotel on Maui, two on Lana'i and one on the Big Island.
